1 causes of static electricity in oil storage and transportation operation

1.1 static electricity is generated in the process of pipeline transportation

a certain rapid flow of oil in the pipeline is prone to static charges and lead to the accumulation of static electricity. Two different substances in close contact with each other, in the rapid separation, will generate charges on the surface of the object. Oil and air will contact and separate, so there is a separate electro-hydraulic servo control system to charge the oil. For the oil flowing in the pipeline, the charge generated by the inner pipe wall and the charge in the oil are opposite symbols and equal in size. Its propagation speed is the same as that of oil flow, and the charge on the outer pipe wall can be guided away through the electrostatic grounding of the pipe. 1.3 static electricity generated during transportation

1.4 static electricity is generated when the oil passes through the oil pump

the oil will be supplied by the oil pump during loading, unloading and use. Due to the electric double layer theory, a large number of electrostatic charges will be generated, some of which will be taken away by the oil, and the other part will accumulate on the impeller and pump wall. When the charge accumulates to a certain amount, it is easy to have a major fire when encountering a fire source or lightning strike

1.5 static stored oil products may also have static electricity accumulation

after the charged oil products enter the oil tank, the static electricity of the oil products will induce different charges on the oil tank wall through induction. If the oil products carry positive charges, through the effect of static charge induction, the inner wall of the oil tank area will carry negative charges, the size of which is the same as the internal charge of the oil products. Positive charge will be generated outside the oil tank wall. When the oil tank is insulated from the earth, the positive charge outside the oil tank wall is opposite to the charge in the oil product, and the size is equal. The positive charge outside the oil tank and the charge on the inner wall of the oil tank attract and bind each other. Under the action of the electric field, there is a strong neutralization effect.
